The garden design for this town house radiates from an axis point within the conservatory, providing a strong physical and visual link between house and garden.
The client’s brief was for an architectural garden with bold use of colour. The garden plan therefore included strong colour in the wall finishes, coupled with good seasonal interest in the planting using a blend of spring bulbs, summer flowering perennials, ornamental grasses and selected autumn colour foliage.
A combination of granite paving, gravel and decking used in this garden design provide textural interest, while the bold architectural lines give an added sense of space and movement.
A blend of various garden lighting techniques were used to dramatise the structural features and planting in the garden at night.
The formal water feature adds sound and movement to the garden, and draws on its reflective qualities during daytime. The pergola timbers draw the eye upward and give a three dimensional element to the garden.
